Do we have to use keywords in our dating domain names?
I have had several discussions on some forums this week and that is really interesting theme. There are two possible general options for choosing the right dating domain. I should mention that I express my point of view and I don’t try to say that you have to do what I do.

Well, the question is as easy as it sounds: Should I use keywords in domain names? I will concentrate on dating theme and this is what I think. My views are really simple.


Usually I register domain names for two types of dating sites:

- my own dating projects. Self installed script and own database of clients

- white label dating sites. Pre-designed sites with integrated database of members

So, as I said I use really simple technique. All my own sites have unique idea, some niche orientation or some extra features. So depending on the idea I try to find the best domain name. I do not really care, if domain contain keywords or not. The most important thing in this situation is to express site orientation, extra features. It is brand name actually. I just try to express idea in my dating domain.

So, for White Label Dating Sites I choose domain names with keywords. First of all, it is most possible that I won’t ever create strong brands from them and I spend less time on promotion, because own sites are important. From the other side, having keywords in domain names is good for SEO, it is not essential, but it makes some sense.

Well, this is what I think. Actually I don’t like all that dating4love.com and love4happiness.com domains. I have some bla4bla.com sites and I am bored with them too)) It is really boring to visit ready4love.com or eager2date.com every day)) Visitors may say: “Ah, another dating site. And it seems I’ve registered here already” What’s the point? I don’t see any.

Let’s make some conclusions…
If I have idea, I would like that idea to be included in domain. It is preferable. It is about Your Brand.
If I don’t have idea, I use keywords. It is good and makes some effect on SEO. It is for making money.)

It is possible I will return to this theme and will dig a bit deeper. There are many principles in domain sphere to discuss actually.
